Meet our Guest: Dr. Megan Waiter

Dr. Megan grew up just outside of Fort Worth, Texas and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Addictions from University of North Texas. Upon graduation she found herself working at a chiropractic clinic and falling in love with the profession due to her personal testimony, as well as the innumerable patients who encountered healing the two years she was in the office.   Dr. Megan received her Doctorate in Chiropractic and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Chiropractic College. During her career at TCC she began pursuing her CACCP (Certified by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics) through the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association) and successfully holds this certification. She has successfully completed the required 14 classes including but not limited to, perinatal care with advanced Webster Technique, developmental neurobiology, neuroimmunology, evaluation and adjusting protocols for primary spinal and cranial subluxation patterns, the essentials of chiropractic care for children, and family nutrition: epigenetics and parental health and nutrition for the perinatal period. With Dr. Megan's knowledge and experience, she is capable of helping families with  preconception, nutrition through all periods of life, pregnancy, pediatric, and postpartum care.

In addition to pregnancy and pediatric training, she is also certified in the Graston Technique®. This is an innovative, evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to detect and effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions, as well as maintain optimal range of motion. This technique can be used in children as well as adults. Athletes of all ages and post-surgical patients have experienced amazing results with Graston when coupled with chiropractic adjustments.

Dr. Megan has officially obtained her advanced proficiency certification in the Activator Method®.  This is one of the most widely researched chiropractic techniques with clinical trials to support its efficacy. The hand-held mechanical instrument provides a quick, low-force impulse at specific points. This technique can be benefit all age ranges from newborns to the elderly.

Through the years she has also become a BirthFit Leader and the only Mercier Therapist in the Houston area. Mercier therapy is a soft tissue visceral manipulative therapy technique used to help restore the health and general well being within the female pelvis and abdominal viscera. Through this therapy Dr. Watier has been able to help women with conception, endometriosis, PCOS, and pelvic pain.

Her passion for health started at an early age, but she wasn’t sure how she was going to make a difference in other peoples’ lives until chiropractic literally changed her life. For twelve years she suffered daily with migraine headaches and relied heavily on medications. By restoring her quality of life with her new chiropractic lifestyle the headaches cease to exist. This is one of many reasons that fuel her passion! Her biggest passion is to help women achieve pregnancy, and the labor + delivery they deserve.

In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband, children, three pups, and horse! They frequent the park and barn on the weekends, go on bike rides, or do early morning workouts in the garage before the Houston heat kicks up!
