Distance Learning, The Nervous System and Children’s Health With Kari Klenke: Episode 158

Distance Learning, The Nervous System and Children’s Health With Kari Klenke

All this extra stress that parents and kids are feeling with distance learning is a bigger concern than most people realize.

It’s affecting their nervous systems in both the short-term and long-term. It’s priming them to be even more likely to experience HPA axis dysfunction.

And they’ll pass this along to their future children, too.
If you don’t think the current conditions are “all that bad” for kids, take a closer look at the increased rates of suicide over the last 2 months—yes, even in children.

Families all across the country are in panic-mode about how they’re going to continue distance schooling if school doesn’t return in August or September.

More and more states are suggesting that children won’t be able to fully resume school until a COVID vaccine is available.

I’m borrowing some words from Avital Schreiber Levy here: “Because sending kids to school is often the ‘default option,’ I’m often asked ‘Why do you homeschool?’ I think it’s time to start reversing that question and ask ‘why are you sending your kids to school?’ When you really think about what your school provides (or doesn’t provide), homeschooling may begin to look much more appealing and not as out-of-reach as you once thought.”

To me, “alternative education” is just as “alternative” as chiropractic.

Once you know what you know, you can’t look back.

So considering all this, you might be thinking about homeschooling.

But wondering how in the world you’d manage that on top of taking care of your patients and running your practice.

If getting your kids out of institutionalized education is on your bucket list, take a listen to this chat I had with my family’s Homeschool Coach Kari Hart Klenke from Klenke and the Brain this month.
