Meet our Guest: Dr. Jamie Thomure

Dr. Jamie Tripp Thomure became a chiropractor so she could help people.

During her undergraduate studies at University of Illinois, she knew she wanted to be in a medical field. After interning with several chiropractors and seeing first hand how much patients were being helped, she chose chiropractic. It gives her the tools to make people feel better without resorting to invasive procedures such as surgery.

Dr. Thomure has been a lifelong athlete, so helping people in their athletic endeavors is important to her. She obtained her Master’s degree in Sports, Science, and Rehab, and became a full body certified provider of Active Release Techniques (ART). This gives her techniques to help both the serious athlete and the weekend warrior get back to their training as quickly as possible at perform at their optimal level. It’s also a great tool to help relieve aches, pains, and repetitive injuries of the general population.

Nutrition is another interest of Dr. Thomure. For the past 10 years she has taken continuing education, attended seminars, and researched nutrition topics. She has learned that teaching patients to eat nutritious foods not only helps them heal better and faster, as it combats the gradual increase in weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, and other conditions that are so common today. She is excited to be able to bring on Joelle Kurczodyna, a Nutritional Therapy Practicioner, to the practice to help keep as many people as possible from falling into the fast food and sedentary lifestyle that much of our country has adopted.

Dr. Thomure grew up in Warrenville, IL and graduated from Wheaton Warrenville South High School. She played volleyball, and was a pitcher on the softball team. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, baby daughter, friends, and being outside and playing yard games.
