Starting Your Own Podcast With Dr. Lauren Collins: Episode 185
Starting Your Own Podcast With Dr. Lauren Collins
Hosting a podcast is an amazing way to build a community of like-minded people while also being able to share all the things you wish your patients and clients knew… but you don’t always have time to go over with them in the office.
That being said, I started to notice as far back as 2019 that I was actually talking people out of starting their own podcast more often than encouraging them to do it!
Podcasting requires a lot of technical know-how, time and consistency. All things that most hands-on practitioners don’t have a lot of, right?
I had gotten into the mindset of “why start a podcast when you can reach new people in less time-consuming ways…”
Eventually, I realized that the lack of enthusiasm that I was feeling about starting a podcast was a symptom of something else going on: After over 5 years of being a podcaster, I had gotten bored with my own podcast!
This is the big reason why I asked Dr. Lauren Collins to be a guest on the show today. She recently started her own podcast, and so far she’s loving it.
If you’ve ever thought about starting your own podcast, I hope that what Dr. Lauren share’s in today’s episode will help you see you really can do it (and it doesn’t have to be hard).
In this episode about starting your own podcast, we talk about:
- Why Lauren’s experience as a dancer led her to choose a career in chiropractic
- How being on the stage in real life helped Lauren feel more confident with using social media marketing for her chiropractic practice when she became a business owner
- Why being introverted hasn’t stopped Lauren from showing up online
- What Lauren chooses to keep private and doesn’t share about on her social media accounts
- How her social media accounts have changed over the years and why they would look differently now than they did 3-4 years ago
- The thing that surprised Lauren about how new patients find her on Instagram
- The one big fear that stopped Lauren from getting started with her podcast for a long time
- Why Lauren has found that podcasting is actually a great fit for someone who’s an introvert
- The thing you need to know about how the way people consume content online has changed and what it means you need to consider in your own practice’s marketing plan

Meet our Guest: Dr. Lauren Collins
Hey, I'm Dr. Lauren Collins! I’m a perinatal chiropractor, mama to Luca, devoted wife to Jonathan, doula, and holistic health advocate. When I’m not busy serving my chiropractic practice members I’m usually at home in full blown mama-mode with my baby boy Luca, loving on my plant babies, or perusing the aisles of Target with a vanilla latte in hand.
I help women in the child-bearing stage of life cultivate more vibrant health in a holistic way and by empowering them to navigate the motherhood journey (from preconception and beyond) with confidence.
Amazing things happen when we focus on our BEing and pour into ourselves; our capacity to live in our purpose and experience life to the fullest expands.
